About Me

My approach to photography is pretty simple. I like to find amazing places, and explore them with people who really like each other.

Finding those places can be tricky sometimes, but it’s one of the best parts about my job, especially when it is tricky.

I’ve spent my life in the outdoors, mountaineering and sailing. It’s left me with a unique set of skills, vehicles, and vessels to help me and my couples get out to the wild places which photograph best.

I’m obsessed with things that take time to make, things that you need your hands for, the tangible. Digital is cool, and makes life simple, but photos are meant to be felt, to be hung up, to be cried over and cried on. They should have creases that match the folds in your wallet.

I think communication and collaboration is key. At any one time I’m probably sharing a pinterest board with at least ten different couples. I’m big on the genuine, the natural and the far-fetched.

I have infinite patience for people who like to smile.

When I’m not in a suit and tie, you’ll probably find me in the mountains covered from head to toe in dirt. Shoes, maybe, smiling definitely. I’m obsessed with the grand and romantic, finding joy in the places that make my heart beat hardest.
